KeyHelp® 25.0 – PHP interpreter for ARM64 Systems, advanced email settings, and new features in the client area

by Alexander Mahr

The latest major release, KeyHelp 25.0, will be available soon and includes numerous technical improvements as well as new features. Among other things, it offers support for PHP interpreters on ARM64 systems, optimized administration tools for email servers, and additional features for end users.

Below you will find an overview of selected new features in the new KeyHelp version.

  • PHP interpreter for ARM64 systems
For the first time, KeyHelp 25.0 supports additional PHP interpreters on ARM64-based servers. Administrators can use PHP versions from 7.0 to 8.4 on all currently supported operating systems. This feature expands the application possibilities of KeyHelp on systems with modern ARM server architecture.

Installation and management are carried out as usual via "Configuration" → "PHP Interpreter".
  • Database server metrics (Pro version)
A new tool for analyzing database server metrics is now available in KeyHelp Pro. Performance indicators, status values, and system variables can be reviewed to identify performance bottlenecks and fine-tune database parameters accordingly.

You can find this feature under "System Status" → "Database Status".

This feature is part of the KeyHelp Pro version and can only be used on systems equipped with a KeyHelp Pro license.
  • New email server settings and anti-spam optimizations

    Limiting email forwarding

Administrators can now define limits for email forwarding per customer account. This measure helps prevent uncontrolled email forwarding, which could negatively impact the email server's reputation - especially in shared hosting environments.

Configuration is available under "Configuration" → "Account Templates" or directly within the user management section.

Customizing the primary email server name

New options allow administrators to set the primary email server name for client connections. This setting affects both the auto-configuration of email clients and the connection details displayed in the customer area.

These options can be found under "Configuration" → "Email Server" → "Connection data".

Systems with Rspamd (Debian 12 / Ubuntu 24)

    SPF validation via Rspamd

With KeyHelp 25.0, SPF validation is fully handled by Rspamd. A new option allows automatic rejection of emails that fail SPF validation.

This option is available under "Configuration" → "Email Server".

    Custom spam score thresholds

Users can now individually set spam threshold values per mailbox, determining at which spam score emails should be classified as spam, marked with SPAM in the subject, or rejected.

These settings are available under "Email Addresses" → "Edit email account".

    Enhanced email headers

All emails will now include detailed spam rating information within the header fields. These additional details can help users diagnose and fine-tune spam score values and can also be used for email filtering rules.

Email headers can be viewed via webmail or email clients.

    Systems without Rspamd (Debian 11 / Ubuntu 20 / Ubuntu 22)

Spam protection has also been improved for systems without Rspamd. The configuration of spam defense services has been optimized so that with KeyHelp 25.0, less spam should reach inboxes. These improvements will be activated automatically with the update.
  • New features in the customer area

    Home directory disk usage

Users now have access to the well-known disk usage feature from the KeyHelp administration panel. This function provides detailed insights into which files and folders are occupying space within the customer's home directory.

The feature can be accessed via "Resources" → "Disk Usage" in the customer area.

    Access to Whois IP Lookup

IP addresses are recorded in both web server logs and the event log. Customers can now use the Whois IP lookup tool to determine who is behind a given IP address.

The tool is available in the customer area via "Tools" → "Whois IP Lookup" and also within "Event Logs" and "Web Server Logs" by clicking on an IP address.
